The story

We bought a wreck and kept the good parts

The Airstream had no floor and a family of raccoons when we found it behind a feed store in 1962. The griddle came out of a diner that closed the same week. Neither has been replaced since.

We make the root beer ourselves, in a barrel, from a recipe nobody outside the family has read. It goes into a mug that lives in the freezer. That is the whole idea.

Fourteen botanicals, one barrel

Word of mouth

What people say in the lot

The best burger I have eaten standing up in a parking lot, and I have eaten a great many burgers standing up in parking lots.

Marisol Reyes

Regular since 2019

I drove forty minutes for the root beer and stayed for a second one. The mug really is frozen.

Dev Anand

Found them at the fairground

They catered our wedding. Ninety guests, no line longer than four people, and my father-in-law still talks about the curly fries.
